Full Biography:  

Joe’s practice encompasses all phases of intellectual property law including domestic and foreign patent preparation and prosecution, litigation support, patent licensing, trademarks and copyrights.  Joe has extensive experience in performing acquisition side due diligences and in conducting validity and freedom-to-operate investigations with associated opinion preparation.  Joe has represented clients ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies in a variety of technologies and has particular expertise in the medical fields including vascular, laparoscopic, orthopedic, electrosurgical, dialysis, and cardiac instrumentation, and in home appliances, personal care and grooming devices.  

Joe attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute where he earned a B.S. in Industrial Engineering with particular emphasis on manufacturing engineering.   After obtaining his B.S., Joe was employed as an engineer for the U.S. government.  Joe subsequently entered law school at St. John’s University where he received his J.D.  While studying law as a full-time student, Joe was also a full-time firefighter for the City of New York.  Joe has been practicing intellectual property law since graduating from St. John’s in 1990.

Joe is President of the Foundation Board for Developmental Disabilities Institute (DDI) based in Smithtown, Long Island, which provides services for over 1,200 children and adults with Autism and other developmental disabilities. He is also an active member of the Agency Board of DDI.
