Jim
received a B.S.E.E. degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Connecticut
in 1985, and an M.S.C.S. degree from Polytechnic University in 1990.
Jim was a Member of the Technical Staff and a Manager in the Communications
Department at the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center from 1988 through 2002,
where he was involved in the design and development of communication
systems, HDTV broadcast technologies and distributed control standards.
He was also a member of a team developing corporate strategies for Broadband
Computing and Rich Media. Prior to his position at IBM, Jim was a Member
of the Technical Staff at Philips Medical Systems where he was involved
in the design and development of computer radiography systems. Jim is
registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark
Office and his practice involves a wide variety of electrical and computer-related
technologies. He is a member of the Tau Beta Pi and Eta Kappa Nu honor
